Honoring the Life and Legacy of Annette Miner

Parent Ally Mentor Annette Miner

With sadness, we honor the life and legacy of our beloved colleague and friend, Annette Miner, who passed away on Jan. 25, 2025. Annette joined the Homeward House team as a parent ally mentor in Jan. 2023, providing outreach and mentoring services to families newly engaged with child welfare services. She was also a valued member of the Parents for Parents Program with the YWCA.

Her extraordinary life story enriched her role as a parent ally mentor—a testament to overcoming personal battles with substance use disorders, health challenges, and the complexities of motherhood. Her 34-year journey with addiction and her triumph over two bouts of cancer not only demonstrated her remarkable resilience but also enhanced her ability to transform challenges into strengths.

Annette took pride in being part of Homeward House Collaborative’s comprehensive support for families. As a parent ally mentor, she was a beacon of hope and support for families struggling with substance use disorders, and she found joy in witnessing their transformations. Her spirit and resilience personified what Homeward House represents.

Annette was also a proud mother and grandmother with strong and cherished connections to the Stillaguamish Tribe

While we mourn her loss, we are profoundly grateful for our time with her and celebrate the lasting impact of her dedication, resilience, and positive spirit.
