Training Overview: This training is intended for housing case workers, property managers, landlords and those who work directly in housing services. This training will outline the principles of housing first, harm reduction and how they intersect in our housing work. There will be an emphasis on the specific issues we see when trying to house or housing folks in Washington and what rights exist for both tenants and property owners. Key components will surround laws in your state that impact clients, tenants, landlords and property managers as well as collaborative approaches to housing.
Presenter: Alixe Dittmore (she/her) is the Training and Content Development Coordinator at the National Harm Reduction Coalition. She has provided harm reduction education and services to people in active drug addiction through mental health services, group homes, sexual health services, street outreach and drop-in centers. At the coalition, she provides training on overdose prevention, HIV and HCV testing, motivational interviewing, risk reduction, de-escalation, and best practices.
